So I went looking in the plans of "la marine National" send to me from David p
got confirmation there...so...modification

That modification was only on the ship after her 1960 refit. Your model represents De Grasse as completed in September 1956 and up thru later 1959. In her fit from 1956 to late 59, she did not have that structure between her height finding radar pedestal and the 127 mm gun director stand.

Im wondering if the drawing is accurate. I say this because I have seen 1956 & 57 photographs that clearly do not show this structure.

Also in the book French Cruisers 1922-1956 by John Jordan and Jean Moulin there is a photo on pg. 155 that clearly does not show this structure. That photo was taken just prior to commissioning in 1956. On pg. 156 there is a drawing based on DGA official plans dated 1957 Brest. That structure is also not in that plans drawing.

The drawing is not correct. I have found several detailed up close photographs taken from a August 57 trip to Algiers. That structure is definitely not on De Grasse in this period. That was a modification done during her 1960 refit.
