1/350 Yamato progress. Forward and aft secondary superstructure mounts, most aircraft tracks on the aft deck, the majority of hose reals and other miscellaneous deck items have been added.
Looking good Joe! Now, if you could just put the telescope down...

Thank you guys! I think my infrequent posts have created a perception that I stop working on this occasionally. I actually do 40 hours a month with no breaks since mid 2017! This model has kicked my butt up one side and down the other. A typical IJN cruiser takes 900-ish. This ship is easily the equivalent of two of those kits.
Just out of curiosity, are you finding you are using more of the Pontos or Lion Roar set? Seems like you are using a fair bit from both upgrade sets, and not almost exclusively using one over the other.

Glad to see you keep progressing with you fine work. Just don't let these guys rush your build...clean and steady is the key.
P.S. Not sure if you changed your mind since last time we interacted, but unless you decided to go for Ten Ichi Go configuration as opposed to an earlier version as you initially planned, that white chrysanthemum crest on the Yamato funnel is a no go as it was painted while Yamato was prepared for its last mission. The "Floating Chrysanthemum" as it is known (those lines below chrysanthemum represent the waves of the sea) is the kamon of Kusunoki clan. In Japanese culture, Kusunoki Masashige is synonym with the ultimate loyalty towards Emperor, blindly obeying Emperor's command even under the prospect of a certain death. It made perfect sense to paint that emblem on Yamato, knowing it was ordered to execute a suicidal mission, basically.
