Hi everyone,
After a long delay I'm once again starting on my 1/350 scale Grosser Kurfurst. I've purchased my first Artwox deck, ever. I notice it has some PE parts, most notably the coal chute covers... or whatever they are called. There are some other small deck stuctures I'd like to replace. Some are simple shapes I can whittle from sprue or build up from sheet. But the skylights need a little more work and I'm coming up with no ideas.
Has anyone ever made some and have a method, or material ideas to share?
Thanks for your thoughts!

A section of ladder or window frame PE, usually from a larger scale, sometimes works.

Re: How would you make 1/350 scale skylights?
I build in 1/700, but skylights should be pretty straight forward in 350 as well. Ill typically make them from styrene strips, making a peaked tent an inch or so long, adding a base when the tent is dry then cutting to length and then adding square or rectangular openings from styrene stock.
Generic covers may be available in 350. I have some in 700 from Starling Models which I like.

A couple more in 1/700 from Evergreen strips. Like any other scratch build parts, sometimes good to make some extras and use the best ones.
