Truly a glorious build.
Now may your home's power to the display base remain steady!

My very best wishes and congratulations to the completion of this epic and unique build, Jim!
This is your most impressive project Ive followed so far - it breathes the spirit and dedication of doing every single item and issue just right and accepting nothing less.

An Amazing build Jim! I hope to see it "in person" at Telford this year!

I have to reluctantly admit that personally I have little interest in liners
But what a wonderful model!
The sheer excellence in modelmaking, and your detailed explanations, have made this one of the most interesting threads ever. It was a pleasure to follow this incredible journey, and the results are both unique and jaw-droppin. I hope to be able to admire it in person one day!

You know Jim. I have mixed feelings about this. I am glad your wonderfull masterpiece is finally finished in all it's glory. But at the same time I feel sad, because there will be no more updates for me to be awed and wondered with your art, skill and ingenuity.
If you indeed plan on building NRP Sagres III
Here are a few interesting sources of details:

I was planning on taking pictures of details during our "Sea Week" but Covid ruined it. Ruined the Voyage around the World too.
So this is the best I can do.

Nonono, now it is time for Bretagne!
Maybe like this, with Napoleon III at the entrance and a couple of royal barges alongside?

I know after this simple project, you're looking for a challenge...

Wow ...... Amazing. Fantastic build Jim.
I can hardly believe it is to 1:700! I'm going to have to read through this thread again very, very carefully.
Cant wait to see more liners from you.

It's kind of privilege to see you work Jim. thanks for sharing this! Can't wait for (hopefully) a lot more pics. The sense of scale is mesmerizing and Im very glad you picked a liner to build. Truly captures the feel of an era, towering over the waves.

Hello all;
Happy Easter!
Every year we hang Easter eggs on a tree outside as well as on a spring twig indoors
Every year we has a small family competition;= blown-out Easter egg shell painting...
Last Year I painted this one....
the circular nature of an egg does not lend itself well to painting a long liner...
It hangs proudly ! ( kinda topical!!

Hey Jim, do you have the dimensions of the different types of portholes and scuttles of the Normandie in 1:1 scale.

Maybe.... I need to have a look in my shipbuiulders1935 publication...
otherwise that kind of question is best asked on the ( numerous (!) facebook pages for Normandie.
the most likely source might be
https://www.facebook.com/groups/SSNormandieOfficial/
https://www.facebook.com/French-Line-CG ... 561281088/
( but that does look veeeery slow ofr a FB page ...)
