If you look at front of the gun mounting in the B position, it shows the shadows for two 4" gun barrels.

The boxart also features Colombo's rebuilt bridge, the added radar, the gun shields are typical for 4", clearly after her 1942/1943 conversion to an anti-aircraft cruiser.

Does that means that Hms Colombo is basicly Hms Calcutta kit with only other decals?

Or are the differences between the two to allow Trumpeter to model both ships different in 1/350 scale?

Colombo's conversion to AA cruiser differed significantly from Calcutta's.

Calcutta: four twin 4" AA ("A", "Q", "X" and "Y" positions), one quad 2pdr mounting, limited bridge modification, original tripod foremast, single HA.DCT (although Trumpeter provide two!)
Colombo: three twin 4" AA ("A", "B" and "Y" positions), two twin 40mm Hazemeyer Bofors mountings, new bridge, light tripod foremast, two HA.DCTs, different light AA

If the plastic matches the box art currently online, then HMS Colombo is not the HMS Calcutta kit with only other decals? (Not sure what decals, other than flags, would be supplied anyway)

Apparently we will be getting a 1/700 Carrier to do HMCS Warrior AND HMCS Majestic. Don't have much more than that to go on as of yet.

So far they have only Bismarck and Tirpitz, although they have been announcing a POW for a few years. The Bismarck is well done considering it's scale.

You're right, it's a great time for this scale.

I don't recall most of those, but I believe you.
Anyway, I remember about a year ago when they (Flyhawk) announced the other "K" class cruisers, from which only Konigsberg had been release by now, and also the WWI German cruisers SMS Emden and Dresden.

Just keep cranking them out. It's hard to get excited about Flyhawk's announcements. I went back and checked and we were talking about their Moltke announcement in Jan 2016 and still nothing....

We're certainly on course! We've got at least SIX new Colossus variants slated for this year; we're just finalizing the details for them to make sure they're all correct for the time periods we want to do. The first ones, Triumph and Glory, will be available in May, then the next two in the Summer. No Majestic, though. We were looking at that and there's only two that could be done even close to postwar fits with the tooling we already have, and new tooling and parts would be required for them. It might not be worth it for just one or two kits. But this will be the year for Colossus kits in 1/700, and one of them will be the first HMCS offering in plastic in 1/700!

Exactly...Flyhawk is exceptionally good at two things:

1) Exquisitely detailed and beautiful kits that put competing kits of the same ship to utter shame.

2) Exquisite promises for lots of mouthwatering kits that they fail to deliver in a reasonable time, (if at all?).

@Mike Bartel - congrats on the Colossus Class line! Excellent parts fit, straightforward assembly, really nice result!

Now that IHP is making injection 1/700 kits exclusively, I try not to make announcements for new kits unless they're close to release (the one exception being the HMS Queen Elizabeth kit only because we're trying to gauge interest for production) and fortunately most of what I have in mind to produce in the future won't be duplicated by anyone else, so I can afford to not make a big list of promises. Oh sure, I'll tease some stuff I'm working on to see what the reaction is for market research purposes, but unless you see pre-production or production-tooling parts on the social media pages and our website, it's not actually happening. I don't like to get too far ahead of myself that way and I can't understand why some other plastic brands do it. Too much can happen that gets in the way of your ambition; that's why it took me 25 years to do the Colossus.

The IHP HMS Colossus has shown it can play with the likes of Flyhawk, Trumpeter and Tamiya in this market and IHP doesn't need to rush or try to claim future kits to prove anything to anyone.

Only if you do the conversion yourself. We can't make a kit using any of our existing tooling. It's a different ship, and all-new tooling would have to be created. We want to put that capital into different subjects. We're not doing any Colossus refits, just 1944-1948 period fits.
