Song!
Nice job on the flight deck landing area marking. Approach speed of a typical jet fighter is 140 knots. With the wind over the deck the relative approach is about 100-110 knots. Considerable precision for hitting the "spot" is required. Perhaps the most challenging era for carrier operations was in the early 1950's when jets such as the Banshee and Panther were introduced on the straight deck carriers, They had a slower approach speed of maybe 110 knots and a good view over the nose, but very poor wave off characteristics due to the slow spooling of the early turbojets. Approach was made with speed brakes out such that the approach utilized a higher RPM setting, helping wave off a little. Miss a wire, it was the barrier! The heavier piston pounders such as the F4U Corsair approached at about 87 knots.
Cheers: Tom

Paint failure is the most easily repairable failure. Im sure you will do a great job even if you try a bit more

Aside from the few thousand tie down holes to be drilled, the masking required is real tour de force!

The painted flight deck looks very authentic! With the air group deployed it will be visually quite attractive to the eye!
