Bronco has no permanent affiliation with the Trumpeter conglomerate. The best evidence for this is probably the fact that both companies have produced their own kits of the same subjects, e.g. LPD-17 and the LCSs.

Veryfire/Beaver releases showing up on HS today. Birmingham and Taiho but at the prices for Birmingham not sure what is included. Also not sure if either of these kits were actually released for sale or just listed as preorders earlier this year or in 2021. Since Beaver is now in the picture for these I wonder if the 350 Atlanta may surface!

Two Birmingham options as I interpret the HS listings are : a UP option that does not include the basic ship kit and : a DX version including the basic ship kit plus the "kitchen sink" with everything else.

I don't recall the Taiho had ever been actually produced by Veryfire so that may be why the Veryfire/Beaver kit is listed as a re-release.

It's 1/700. They got it right in the Chinese - looks like the early configuration before the intended turrets were ready.

The Hobby Boss 1/350 Missouri does appear to be new tool - the two biggest observations for me to support that conclusion are the much more developed hull plating and the main guns are at low elevation (also the blast bags do not appear to have folds like the Very Fire kit). I'm sure closer inspection will reveal a number of other differences - I don't recall accommodation ladders even on the deluxe VF kit:

All these years and they still don't know how anchors work...

And all that PE but none for the SK-2! Though that might be added later/been an oversight on the part of the CAD layer assignments.

And the molded-on protruding tampions for the 16" barrels are a thumbs-down.

Looks like the only thing going for it *might* be the price and availability, depending on shipping and where you're buying.

Agreed, but its fixable with a bit of elbow grease or bits from model monkey. I realize the Joy Yard kit is better but not almost twice the money better (Joy Yard's Wiscousin is up for preorder on hobbyeasy) and frankly this Sloppyboss release is gonna have to be at least as good as that for me to care. The price while not super crazy for 1/350 ship is a bit of a head scratcher; pricing put up with the Joy Yard but I'd bet money (almost) that it isn't on par details/shapes accuracy wise. Now I'm not against upgrading my Very Fire kits to Joy Yard units, its been this long and they still have put out the whole class which for me is annoying and no I don't want to convert them. Very Fire's kits aren't perfect of course, but the price is right even if you get the detail sets to go with the kits.
