Actually yes. It's been designed specially for this project. I use my friend's printing service. I don't know what they use but it looks very accurate for me. I can reach the 0.05mm level of details...

The is a very fine level of detail for 1:700 scale, quite amazing.

Very nice work you've done. Those searchlights.....wow. That's some detail on something so small!

I hope this build ends up in a museum when you're done with it man because that's where it'll belong. DARN FINE JOB!!!!

That's impressive PE work. I was getting a little dizzy looking thinking about it as I looked.

Could you ask your friend what printer he is using? Those parts are the best 3D print part I've seen! Is he doing the service for friends, or other customers too? Maybe I could get access to his service as well when I need fine parts?

let's make cranes ...

Crane for seaplanes:



truss partially equipped:

Base with removed "details" form Trumpeter. Those ones have been replaced by 3D printed. Upper level done of paper strengthen by CA glue




It was worth to rebuild






and complete set of cranes for USS Washington ready:





still some small details will be added like railings, handles then cleaning and ready to be painted! .....

I've been working a bit on middle and big guns

127mm units ready to paint:





barrels 406mm after first "shadowing",



got grey and then in masking device got blue....




127mm units painted without any masking - just positioning to aero.






406mm turrets ready to receive barrels...:




preparation for setting 127mm barrels from Master.




I cut 1mm plastic bar into slices with thikcness of 0.4mm




then I will drill them and insert barrels....


aeroplanes crane painted also without masking:

and twins are ready to be painted

If you were to make a 1/350 set like this, I would be your first customer!

As for the crane, in all likelihood the entire thing was painted gray, since there's no real vertical covering, it's all just girders and framework.
