Hello Gentleman,

after working on some time consuming 1:1 projects at the office, I�m back to modelmaking. I have finished my small TID Tug. I have shown the model at the first model show I attend this year in Heiden Germany. You will find some more photos at MW.com Gallery as soon as possible.
I start to continue to work at my other projects and I also have a new project in my mind, because Combrigs 1/350 SMS Seydlitz is new in my stash

Les progress as usual but also small progress is progress! I have added decals to all my current boats, Kilo sub, MTB and Trafalger sub. Next to the decals all of the diorama parts are painted and ready for some wash and weathering. But next to all that stuff I start building a Trumpeter scale 1/144 Typ XXIII sub as the Fedaral German Navy's S170 U-Hai (ex U2365). The boat was raised in 1955s and served in the Federal German Navy until 14. September 1966 (one day after I was born), when the boat sunk in a storm with all hands except one crew member.

I waterlined the boat and cut out all the openings in hull and conning tower. Now the boat is painted and the decals are applied. Next step is to add a wash and some weathering effects.

Hello Gentleman,

a l ot of progress during the last two days in my modeling yard. The TypXXIII is finished and also my scale 1:350 MTB 794. I applied a subtle weathering with oil paints on both boats. The MTB's rigg was made with streched sprue.
It is a good feeling to see the MTB finshed now, I start working on the boat in July 2009

Spending some time in the Garden this morning there was time this afternoon to finish HMS Trafalger and my Kilo sub. Like the models I have posted the last days a wash followed by a subtle weathering was the final work to do on the boats. Except HMS Montgomery now all the �in progress� ships models are finished and it is time to take a closer look to their displays.

For a few days I have got Atlantic Models HMS Peacock in scale 1/350. The nice little kit is a good choice for an in between build . The kit contains 3 resin and 10 white metal parts and a PE fret. The casting of the resin parts is very good, but the white metal parts need a lot of attention to clean up because of their rough surface. Yesterday I start cleaning up, sanding and fitting the resin parts. I add locators and M4 screws to fix the upper works to the hull. Next I took a closer look to the boat crane. Following a research for some 1:1 photos of the Peacock class, I decide to build this striking part of the boat deck new. Some styrene profiles, patience, a comparison to the kits white metal part and some good reference photos lead me to a good result. One crane is nearly finished and the main parts for the second one are ready to assemble. Due to some photos I have researched to replace the crane fixing points in the hull by approx. 4mm in bow direction. It seems to me, that this possition is more close to the original one.
I replaced the kits Oto Melara by the one of Academys OHP Frigate which is still lying unfinished in my modeling yard since more than two years. Next to reference photos I add some vents to the guns base.

I did a review on this kit for Finewaterline a few weeks back good model for those wishing to do their first resin kit or as a quick build for the more experienced.
Question: where did the gun come from looks very nice.
I shall hide mine after seeing what your doing as always a pleasure to see you at work

I use the gun out of the Academys Oliver Hazard Perry kit. The gun barrel is form MASTER. The rest is some extra detail made of styrene.

Hide was the wrong word to use i think
not much time to model at the moment hence my slow pace on Dreadnaught but during a brief visit to my club i did clean up the white metal parts for Peacock Nice easy kit to play with when i get time

Mmhh, long time since I have posted my last progress. Unfortunately there is no progress at my dioramas because I receive interest in building some subs in scale 1/350, work on reviews for Kombrigs SMS Seydlitz and HMS Tiger and start working on SMS Seydlitz. I also tried some different shades of Vallejo Model Air to find a good Acrylic match for modern Royal Navy grey. Now I have a few weeks of and there should be some time to forward and finish some models.

Above, Bronco Models HMS Vanguard. Center Bronco Models K335 Giepard, beneath, Riich Models Los Angeles Class Flight II RN grey, Vallejo 71046 Palegrey mixed with 17008 Paleblue SMS Seydlitz some parts cleaned up.
