@Nicolas, it is only slow progress but I cover that by starting a lot of projects

Another project still on the workbench, HMS Trafalger. All the parts got a coat of paint and are ready for a weathering and highlighting now. My Diorama projects were on hold until last month because I got new bases for my displays. Now I use a wooden frame with a insert made from MDF (particle board) coated with a thin plastic layer. I arranged the parts finally to prepare working on the water base. Note the subs scratch build hatch. It is a bit of guess work and looks a little bit like a toilet lid

Today I finished painting the subs I work on. Periscopes, screws etc. were hand painted. I only airbrush the with marks on Giepard and the bow section of Vanguard. Now the boats are ready to apply a coat of future before I apply the decals.
Next to this I start working on the sea base for my HMS Trafalgar dio and the sea base for my Kilo class diorama got a second coat of high gloss varnish. Fun to have time and work on all the items and subs assemblies still waiting for some progress for a long time!

thank you for your kind comments on my last work!

Today I start detail painting and weathering the main parts form y Kilo class sub diorama. I paint the dock bearings in a dark and rusty color, the wooden blocks on top of the bearings are yellow ochre. After that I applied a heavy coat of dark brown shades of oil color diluted with lighter fluid. The dock floor is also heavily weathered with undiluted oil color. I used a soft cloth to blur the oil color and meld it with the base color. I did the same with the dock�s side wall but with a more subtle weathering. I used streaks of oil color to get a more weathered and worn look at the side wall. Now the oil color need some time to dray before I can start to highlight the structure and details.
I start also the weathering on the quay side and ware house from my Trafalgar. Some photos will follow.

Well, as promised a photo of my weathered and highlighted quay side. May you note the stippeled surface ready to paint. Today I add a wash with oil colors to all the small parts for the Kilo and Trafalgar dio. Man I�m close to finish both dio�s. A long time for both models, I start working on the Kilo class dio for 2 years and the Trafalgar dio for 1 � years ago! Last but not least I paint and weathered the wooden mooring buoy I build for the Typ XXIII sub. I made the buoy following a photo I have taken in Wilhelmshaven last year.

Now the dock diorama is nearly finished. Today I have made a first setting with all the parts to check their position. There are some figures to paint, the sea base need a further coat of high gloss varnish and then I can assemble the diorama.

I made the final arrangement and add all the items to its place now. Following the suggestion of my German Gambler friends to add a connecting wire for the boats external power supply and some figures should be the last work to do on the Kilo class dockside diorama. There is also progress on HMS Trafalgar. The quayside is finished only missing some figures and a forklift. Actually I add a first coat of high gloss varnish to the water base. May you remember my MTB diorama, last in focus on page 5 of my thread. I nearly finished the quayside and the building last evening. The weathering is done and next I start working on the water base. The house looks nice so far but I�m not so confident with the roof top. The roof is an adhesive foil and I was a bit unmindful while adding the foil with the result of an uneven end. May I will add a cover strip?

Amazing job and attention to details!!
The Kilo just looks 100% like a picture of a Russian drydock.
I am not sure whether the settings do justice to the models or viceversa, what a sinergy!

thank you all for your very kind comments but sorry for my late reply. I'm back in the office after three weeks off and now there is again less time for modelmaking.

I finished three forklifts my close friend Franks Spahr lend to me and HMS Trafalgars waterbase is also in progress. I hope to finish the dioramas until the end of October. Some photos will follow as soon as possible.

Interesting projects. Nice realisation! Brings life into models when you make a diorame of them.
