Never heard of Chrisoula K. Interesting ship, also nice to see that her GA drawings are online at digipeer (search for Dora Oldendorff). Maybe something for the next decade -:)

Great to see you back on this one. It's relatively easy to give up on these smaller scale scratchbuilds.... Hope you've made some progress since your last post as well :heh:

Life has managed to get in the way of modelling over that past few months but I'm back. And this thread needed a restart anyway. Some things did happen over the past two years. The superstructures have been built up and fixed in place and I have glued down the hatches.

I also painted all of that.

And a few weeks ago I put some clearcote on the assembly in order to start decalling the hull and the funnel.

As I'm using individual letters the result is not always perfectly straight but I'm getting there.

Next: figuring out a way to replicate this in 1/700 and put it on the funnel.

Hi Pieter,
the nice point with working 1/700 is that it's not getting too much in the way in your home when put aside for a few months...
Scratchbuilding at this tiny scale is just crazy : well done ! Please go on with your entertaining work !

Over the past few weeks I have taught myself how to design an emblem, scale that emblem to the right size and work with inkjet decal paper. Lost of trial, a lot of error...and all of that for two pieces of decal size 5 by 3.2 mm.
But this is it. Still not perfect but it looks like an RIL funnel now.

Managed to get some work done over the past few weeks.
The superstructure has railings now.
firstrailings.JPG
And I have managed to add one anchor winch, one warping winch, 18 cargo winches, 18 little topping chain drums and some 20 vents....phew...

Managed to do some work over the weekend. I used the excellent new AJM boat set for the ships' boats. The railings on the winch houses are from the spares box.

Getting on the home stretch for this build. The model has been fixed to its base using small screws. I have built up the water using acrylic gel and I have started glueing everything in place. I did not like the railings on the winch houses so they were replaced using one of the Tom's modelworks Titanic sets. The railings for the McGregror hatches have been build from styrene strips.

The question is though...will she survive the next Star Wars movie?
