Hi,

just adding more sea boxes (auxillary cooling water inlets and sea valves) in the starboard bilge ... there must be a sheer endless number of sea boxes in that ship ... :heh:

Dinner! :woo_hoo:

Hi richard,

I think sea boxes and so on are typical for all kind of steel ships.
We dont see them on models because the info is hard to find;
and RC models are prone to damage to the hull ... :heh:

Have a nice weekend! :wave_1:

Hi,

I add a few pictures showing the early basic steps of installing the sea box for the port turbine cooling water inlet.

There seems to be an end of installing sea boxes .... just about a handful left to install! :woo_hoo:

Is that seawater coming out of your sink  How else would you test the Seaboxes . Incrediable detail . :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

How to cut openings into a hull

Posted: Sat Aug 27, 2011 8:21 am
by 109
Hi,

for cutting an opening into my hull I developed the following procedure:

1: Marking the position and the outline of the seabox.
2. Drilling holes (approx. 1mm DIA) inside and along the outline, tightly spaced).
3. Inserting a saw blade into one hole (sawing action with the outward stroke). Holding and leading the blade inside the hull with one hand. With the other hand grap the free end of the saw blade with pliers and execute the outward strokes.

Bye now! :wave_1:
