After 35 years of model building, I finally took an hour last night to build myself a proper spray booth.
It's nothing fancy: just some card board, an old fan and a couple of layers of furnace filters from Home Depot. It doesn't vent outside, so it doesn't address fumes (haven't hurt me yet...) but it seems to do a good job with paint particles and provides a relatively dust free area for painting.
I put two filters in place: a cheap fiber filter in front with a higher priced dust filter behind it. Top flips down for storage and I'll plan on keeping it covered for dust protection which can be an issue with wood sanding sometimes being done close by.
Total cost was about $5.00 (plus the cost of the new kitchen sink that came in the box).
