Mr. Kim,
Can I add the Hood's three main deck parts to the hull without creating problems adding the coming detail up set? Just trying to get a head start.

Did I see mention of resin hawse pipes earlier in the thread? Might mitigate against bonding decks at this stage...

Just went back through thread a few pages - wasn't seeing things:

I'm holding off completely on mine until I have the Pontos set in my hands and can formulate a plan of action...

Mine is still in the shipping box it arrived in. Only took it out once to look at it. IMHO HMS Hood is the most beautiful warship ever built and I know Pontos will do it justice with this set.

What? No replacement brass hull?

Looks absolutely stunning! I can't wait to get the set I have already pre-ordered. Now I will expect a dent in my credit card bill as early as March. Thanks for the heads up and the hard work.

Very good and for the most very accurate! one point of note though, the 25 foot fast motorboats are totaly wrong though..

This it what she carried in 1941!!

Pontos has one right of the starboard side, the other two are indeed of a different type.

The admirals barge (in the wrong position but if I look carefully I think the model was done in a hurry  ) is the correct 35ft barge. I also see two 35ft barges that should be equal bit are not? The admrials barge is the one most aft, the other two should be the same (the type now forward to port side has the right fwd cabin, the one aft the correct aft cabin, so it's a bit of a mix.). The aft cabin had no forward window, incidentally. Nothing that cant be fixed (either pontos or the modeler :thumbs_up_1: )

This is the standard type

Edit: and, nice set :thumbs_up_1: Worth the wait if you ask me.

Looks like a beautiful set for a beautiful lady. It will (with a lot of patience) build into a museum quality representation. Great Job!

I know quite a few members of this forum are a little bit fazed re. the cost of this set, but in
my humble opinion, i am amazed at the low price Pontos have put on their incredible after
market offering. All praise to them for keeping the cost down in what must have been almost a loss making
undertaking. Bravo.

I agree, and afterall nobody is making modellers buy these products. The modeller is perfectly at liberty to either build OOB or do their own research and fabricate their own detail parts, after which they will certainly realise that the Pontos Model set is excellent value for money given the depth and scope of what is included.

As with cars where people don't consider them as assets or replacement cost and decide whether to repair purely on the ratio of current car value : repair cost, some modellers seem to have a psychological block in terms of what is spent on a project with the cap set by what they paid for the original kit.

Personally I'd rather build fewer models to a better quality for a given budget, but appreciate that isn't how everyone looks at this hobby
