Not much Carrier Building going on. Here is what I did for the Cold War Build. I have been on the road so much that I can't get anything done.

Re: Carrier Builders Yard, whats on the Slipway
Hey, guys! It's been awhile since I was last on, and am surprised there are no new carrier pictures since my last visit. I guess everyone is just really busy these days.
Also, I am going to be starting my 1/350 scale USS Ranger scratch build soon, so It might be nice if some could post some diagrams of the ship. I've been searching the web for exact dimensions of the ship in the scale, but I have had no luck so far.

CV-61. I am going to build the ship as she was when decommissioned.

How do you make the hull curve on the forward section? I've been trying to figure it out for the past 2 days, but with no luck.

Re: Carrier Builders Yard, whats on the Slipway
I should have been clearer. Not the sponson, but where the forward hull meets the deck.

Re: Carrier Builders Yard, whats on the Slipway
very important question. is this going to be a waterline or full hull? because the waterline is easier for me to do the bow.JevJanson wrote:I should have been clearer. Not the sponson, but where the forward hull meets the deck.

Re: Carrier Builders Yard, whats on the Slipway
I think I might try to do a full hull, but below the water line will be balsa foam. Everything above the waterline except for parts of the sponsons and the island are going to be paper. The island and sponson parts will be sheet plastic.
