I have a couple new books out on PT Boats, as listed in this month's reviews:

The books are compilations of wartime advertisements featuring PT boats, and will be virtually useless to the modeler... but I think they are a lot of fun for any PT fan anyway!
Without taking away from the gallantry and bravery of the PT crews, it's fair to say that the PTs' role in the fighting war was over-hyped at the time... but their role on the home-front was considerable, as their David vs. Goliath stories gave the public something to cling to in the war's darker days. This is borne out by their huge presence in the wartime ads, and it's clear that PTs were popular long before JFK's political career.
