Modern US carrier catwalk color

Post by NJJK »

I have a question about the color of the catwalk on modern Nimitz class carriers. What color is the part of the catwalk you actually walk on? The bottom metal grating. It's been about 12 years since I've been on a carrier (CV-64). I wish I would have paid more attention to some things. Thanks in advance!

The metal grating as in "look through and see the water far below" then I believe its standard Haze Gray. I was on CVN-75 a few years back for a day cruise and I could of sworn they were standard Haze. The grating was rather rough so I would think that would negate the need for non-skid.

Standard Haze Gray is correct for grating. Standard non skid for the solid areas.
