Testors/Model Masters now actually make (well, re-making) USN camouflage colours by name in both acrylic and enamels, so you don't even have to look up substitutions:
Enamel: http://www.testors.com/category/560957/Naval_Colors
Acrylic: http://www.testors.com/category/136649/Acryl_Paints (no 20-B though)

Of course, if you're an enamels guy, you can always go with WEM's Colourcoats line.

Hi Timmy C,
That's great to know. It's about time they reworked their USN color line. White Ensign paints are great if they are in stock :heh: :heh: . Other wise I prefer Life color paint. It might not be as accurate, but Sprue Brothers sell it by the bottle so you don't have to but it by the set and it's almost always in stock also.

drove clear down the valley to the Hobby Store ( 60 miles ) ... and they didn't have ANY of the Testors 215- naval colors product line! No 20-B Weather Deck Blue to be found. Puts a real kink in my get-along! :Tirade:

Yes, the re-newed Testors line is rather difficult to get, being both new and obscure - Harry at Battlefleet Models (link on the front page) should have some, if I recall correctly.

If you don't line in Colorado, order online from BattleFleet Models. If you do live there you'll have drive there. Harry has the entire line of the re-issued Testor's paints. Shipping is only $5 for any order under $100 and free after that. He's a great guy, deal with confidence.

Edit: Timmy beat me to it but there's the link anyway.

You realize the money you spent on the gas to get to the hobby store is more than the shipping costs, right? Not trying to sound like a smart alek or anything. Just thought youd like to see it from that perspective. (unless youre driving a car that gets great mileage)

lol ... yep I am painfully aware of the cost of gas! but my old-fashioned values always make me try to support our "local" merchants first if I can! (Plus I had groceries to buy  )

We are SERIOUSLY up in the mountains! (you know: bears, cougars, elk, pot plantations, etc lol) So sometimes "local" means a long drive!

And no, my car doesn't get great mileage but it sure is dang fun to drive being a 2008 Muscle-tang!! Actually it does get about 28 mpg on the highway with the cruise control set ... but only about 9 around town since a perfectly good stop sign is totally worthless without a little Muscle-tang rubber on the road as a testimonial! LOL

but I digress. Back to the colors: does anybody see anything glaringly wrong???
