Cutting the thin tubing

Hello,

I decided to replace some of the barrels of 5 inch AA guns with the pieces of thin steel tubing (coming from the medical 0.5 mm thick injection needles, which are just right in 1/350 scale). However, I have a question - how to cut the tubes right, so the opening is not deformed?

Any tips?

I use a Dremel tool with a cutting disk and then sand with a sanding stick to clean up the ends. Most Dremels come with cutting disks included. Rich

I was just having this same problem today, why didn't I think of that? I even went as far as trying to use a hack saw!

Tubing cutter may work. They make a small one.

Insert a smaller, solid rod in the tube that fits tightly. Then you can cut without the barrel deforming. Not sure if this works for hypodermic needles, though...

That's how tubing is bent in real life!

Perhaps using a lathe works as well. I have one, but I took it apart last christmas....
