cougars to panthers

I have seen several carriers in which the builder converted cougars to panthers. I have been unsuccessful in corresponding with the builders. I know that starfighter decals will start up a new listing of panthers in a few weeks. However, before I found I needed to have panthers instead of cougars on a revell 1/540 Coral Sea, early l950's, I purchased 3 more sets of aircraft giving me aproximately 100 1/540 cougars, skyraiders and corsairs. I have even found a site that shows an overlay to show the difference between the two aircraft. It appears the fuselage is the same but the wings and tail area need to be changed.

My altering and scratch building abilities are very limited. If anyone has altered a cougar to a panther would you please advise me exactly how you did it? Patrick Cosgrove has a very good example of a conversion on a 1/540 Roosevelt in the gallery section but I have not been able to contact him.
