Looking for help ... on making drawings

Post by Antonio Bonomi »

Ciao all,

probably you do not know me at all, but I am an average modeler and an history researcher as well, especially on German WW 2 major warships, the Kriegsmarine ones, since 1972, so 35 years ago.

During those years I have collected and worked on all those ships ( Bismarck, Tirpitz, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, Adm Hipper, Blucher, Prinz Eugen, Deutschland-Lutzow, Adm Scheer and Adm Graf Spee ) finding all the infos I could about their technical and camouflage schemes.

Now I would like to look for some help to publish them on an electronic format, and make them public, maybe finding also a place to post them too, .. for everybody benefit, .... and free of charge.

I have already made some work in this direction you can see here in for example with a friend of mine ( Andrea Toller ) now very busy at work and not available anymore.

http://www.scharnhorst-class.dk/scharnh ... _1943.html

but that is only the Scharnhorst story, .. that by the way I need to modify and complete too as I have other schemes and new infos about,.... lately.

Is anybody interested on helping me,.. with is electronic CADAM or PC graphic skill and time to spend on following me on this effort.

If you like those ships and you want to know their story like never seen before..... here you have a chance,....

Here an example of Adm Hipper unknown and never published Norway camouflage schemes,.... handmade by me as you can see,.... this is the raw material,... as you can see it can be a lot improved too.

Volounteers welcome, ..... assured fair treatment, .. between gentleman, ... that for me is a MUST !

wow, i wish i could help but i dont have the time and i'm not sure i can do what you want anyways... however that is very generous of you! looks like great work too!

I'm sure we can find a place to host them... shouldn't be hard to publish either. Maybe even tim will let them be posted on this site?

Help and more

Post by Antonio Bonomi »

Ciao Kenny and all,

here is the reason why I was asking some PC graphic help,....

http://forum-marinearchiv.de/smf/index.php?topic=3967

... now as you can see Gneisenau is done,.. Bismarck, Tirpitz, and Scharnhorst are all done as well, ... but I have all the infos and my handmade drawings ready to make all the other KM major warships,...so Prinz Eugen, Adm Hipper, Blucher, Deutschland/Lutzow, Adm Scheer and Adm Graf Spee.

That was why I have asked,...but as you can see even if from a pure PC professional graphic stand point they could have been better done,..still the work is acceptable and provides the modelers the infos they are mainly looking for,.. while telling the ship history.

I might (and this is a slim chance) be able to help with drawings, see some of my work here: My Drawings
Those are smaller reoslution drawings, as I hope to someday make a book with them all, but I might be able to help with your endeavors.

He's not been on msn for weeks.

I use to talk to him daily, but he's disappeared off the face of the planet! :mad_1:

It's half-term over here so its likely this week he's gone away on holiday.

I'll keep trying to contact him.

Ciao all,

many thanks for the possible support and any help you will be able to provide.

If the person able to work on this project will be more than one,.. it can be even better, as the ship remaining to be done are a lot, so everybody can take one, ... and I can follow all the work progresses checking and helping all around.

The bigger effort is to make the first scheme, than the rest is just copy and modify, .. so it comes out pretty easily, .. especially if you know exactly were to make the correct modifications.

But you need to know how to manage BMP, or JPG files, how to resize, reduce cut and paste, work on layers maybe and so on.

YES, Vlad is good on this,.. as we jointly made a Gneisenau couple of ' fantasy schemes ', ..the X and Y listed on my plans after the refit with 380 mm guns,... on my plans, .. we did it together... so I know he is good on this,.. very good.

By the way now you can see those drawing also without the censored German needs ( swastika's ) so you can realize the difference between Scharnhorst and Gneisenau swastika air recognition banner a bit better.

Talk to you soon, .. and thanks again. Antonio :surfer:
