I'm new in this.
I recently posted ictures of my finished Titanic model (1:350 Minicraft deluxe). It seems it will take some 5 weeks to appear in the gallery.
In any case, plse find some of my pictures and a link to where all my pictures are gathered.

I am no expert on Titanic-so cannot comment on accuracy- but your model looks very nice.

....certainly you have expended vast amounts of work on the model-

-and it shows in the 'feel' of the model, sharp edges and its 'busy' !

I look forward to seeing images of her in the MW.com gallery soon!

If I may... ? !

NEVER again be tempted by the convenience of a plastic mast-- all plastic masts distort-even under relatively light loads of model rigging;...... alas your foremast certainly has.....

as a cure may I suggest.....

If the long fore and aft WT ariel was removed-- with some determination and care you may well be able to straighten the top mast-

==> -in which case if you re-make the long WT ariels--use stretched sprue ( ** ) with a smaller size spreader bar( don't us the plastic kit item--it is far too large! substitute it with a piece of scrap PE or even use thin nickel silver wire for the spreaders

(**) have a look here how I make stretched sprue and rig with it ---the loadings for your WT ariel are infinitesimal....

Many thanks for your comments and suggestions. I have seen your models. Have no words to say. They are just splendid! I'm not that advanced.
Regarding the mast, you are absolutely right. I noted this detail too after making the pictures. Too late to touch that zone as during the rigging I broke 1 cm of the mast!!!
I have rectified the biggest part of the problem right now. I changed the original thread with a new one, more stretched, from about 5 mm from the top of the mast till the conection (at the base) of the fore stay at the bow. (cannot explain it very well in english. I hope you understand what I mean. The curve it had is hard to see now so it is slightly better. Foremast has a lot of rigging as per official plans so no way to touch that zone anymore. I have made a new picture so you can see this detail has been rectified in a certain sense.
At the other hand, can you tell me if it is true that it takes 5 weeks to appear in the Gallery?

Basically yes!-

- there is a long queue of other previous submissions--day in day out there are many submissions -- and it takes a while to process all these images and create a page for each new modeller etc etc.

and obviously .... it is a sign of popularity of MW.com that there is such a wealth of submissions!

I do not know of any other modelship building website where there is a DAILY gallery update 365 days of the year ...

The wait will be worthwhile--

in the mean time-- what are you building now..?

What I'm building now? Nothing for the moment. I just want to rest a bit as it has been 9 months modelling each day. My wife was not that happy but now she is as I made the model for her.
My previous model took 7 months but this was far away in 2001!!!!!!. Then I was not married! HMS Victory from Airfix.
Plse see some pictures.

What about my foremast of the Titanis? Is it a bit better?

5 weeks have passed since I posted my model, pictures included, to modelwarships but I cannot find my model in the section of "Liners 2013". There are none.
Can you tell me if there has been a problem?
Would like to see it soon. It would be great.

sometimes its quicker--sometimes it can take longer...

alas I am not a gallery editor...

so can only speak from experience with my own contributions....

sometimes ships are released in a theme--ie civilian, or liners or similar groupings.

I ma sure we weill soon see the Titanic as a daily update...

Adolfo, your gallery has been prepared and will be posted in the next few days.

I will probably be posting yours tonight. Sorry it has taken so long. I have a ton of things going on and only so much time to work on the gallery. For the rest of you I am just now processing images I received on 3-4 so I have slipped beyond the 5 weeks that we advice you to wait. But don't worry, all images will be posted eventually. I try to post them in the order I receive them with a few exceptions.

For the lights I used as follows:

I made 3 groups of lights. Each has 22 units of 3 mm yellow leds. Total 66 units.
Group 1: Hull - Forward welldeck - forecastle - poop deck - aft. well deck Distribute lights uniformly and paint all inner walls WHITE for reflection of light. I sometimes used Alum. paper too.
Group 2: Promenade deck and staircases
Group 3: Boat deck and all deck houses

At the end you will have 3 positive cables and 3 negative ones. Make ona cable from each so that you will have 1 positive and One negative.
Connect the correct resistance to the positive cable. Connect all ends to an AC/DC Transformer of 9 V.
This is a lot of work but it's worth the while.

Remember to test each group with a 3 V batttery before covering all and remember also that ALL cables have to go throuch the bottom of the hull, through the golden stand arm (right one) and through the black base.... till the outside.
There is a lot of info on how to built these groups in the internet.

Very crisp build, and that lighting rig couldn't have been easy to fit into such a hull. It kind of reminds me of how I've seen model starship builders light their vessels. Unfortunately, it seems that you've got a bit of light bleed in your deckhouses, which in future can be solved by painting the inside walls black.

Also of note to future Titanic and Olympic builders (apologies if this has been stated before): the two cranes in the fore well deck should be pointed either toward the bow parallel to the sides, or forward and inward at a forty-five degree angle as with the stern cranes (reversed, obviously). IMHO, having them intertwined as they are on this build (rigging problems there, no?) is possibly influenced by photographs taken of the wreck by Ballard's 1985 expedition, which show them tangled up against the aft wall of the well deck. I believe that this was the result of the bow section's plunge to the bottom after the ship split in two; the force of water shoved the cranes into each other, and they got further mashed up when the section impacted and settled.

Beyond those niggling issues, I can't say that I could do any better. I've been tempted to get the Minicraft deluxe kit with all the photo-etch and the wooden deck veneer, but there's a small problem: bitter experience with armor builds has shown that beyond simple tacking of mesh screens and other flat, non-folding detail bits, I'm rather hopeless with metal. That, and there's this nagging sensation in my mind that wood veneer decks distort the kit and can interfere with certain perceptions (since the veneer isn't exactly paper-thin, you know). I've never actually used them, though, so I could just be talking b*ll*cks.

Yes I also noted too much light too...but it was too late and I even paited the inside in black, though it seems I forgot a piece...lol!
In any case, critics were incredible and I'm very happy of course. Regarding the cranes, I followed the modeller's manual of Davies-Garner, so I could not do much more.
