How to straighten curved resin pieces

I have found that some resin pieces (gun barrels, masts, antennae,...) end up curved instead of straight.

Apparently there is an easy way to "take the curve out" and make the part straight like it was supposed to be.

Could someone please enlighten me?

The two most common methods I use are immersing them in hot water or using a blow dryer to heat them up and then gently bending them back.

If it's a fairly large object like the entire hull, some people put it in the oven at its lowest setting. Sounds a bit extreme, but apparently works!
