Calling all RAN E-class (HMAS AE2) fans
Wanted kit of AE2 submarine or name of manufacturer. I am preparing a display for my local returned service club for ANZAC day 25 April 2015.

There was limited-run resin kit by the Australian company Fleetline some time ago: viewtopic.php?f=50&t=67292#p495113
If you're lucky, someone might try to sell theirs on EBay.

Re: Calling all AE2 submarine fans
Hi Ian
I have had similar thoughts about making an AE sub for the 2015 ANZAC day. I have started on a wooden plug for a mould of an AE sub at 1:72nd scale (760mm long). I intend on making a couple of fibreglass hulls eventually. There should be enough room to make them RC surface runners, not sure about being able to dive though. Construction is progressing slowly. Below are a couple of photos of the early stages.

Re: Calling all AE2 submarine fans
G'day Zulu,
I am about halfway through completing the Fleetlines resin kit. It is a little untidy but will look something like it should.
Rather than AE2, though, I am doing her as AE1 which was lost in New Guinea - I have a soft spot for the German New Guinea campaign.
I would recommend contacting Fleetline. He is slow to respond but usually does.
Cheers,
bj

Re: Calling all AE2 submarine fans
G'day people,
This is my just completed Fleetline Models 1/350 AE2. Not the best sub kit I have built, but there is not much choice if you want a 1/350 "E" Class (AE1 & AE2). I am sure there are plenty of errors and I am happy for them to be to be pointed out, though it will be too late for this kit. It may help others.

Size comparisons

cheers,
Pappy
