NoreastCon 43 - May 2/3, 2014

Post by MartinJQuinn »

Hosted by the Long Island Scale Modelers Society, NoreastCon (the IPMS/USA Region 1 annual show) was held for the 43rd time at the American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale, LI. Nice turn out for ships. I was one of the teams judging ships - some great work on the table.

Congratulations to Richard Price, who's 1/700 IJN Takao won Best Ship and I believe Best in Show (I left before the awards).

Some more ships. The Prinz Eugen was really well done, took 1st Place in it's category.

Unfortunately for the builder of the Prinz, this fabulous Takao was on hand. The lower hull was scratch built, and the level of detail was astounding. Really well done - deserving of Best Ship and Best in Show.

Dan Kaplan was there with a pair of IJN destroyers. One was better than the other...

And Bobby Cicconi was there with a Samek USS Texas, that took "Best WW1 Ship"
