Looking for some help on the size of the white painted bow numbers on USN amphibious ships.
I know late war they were changed to a height of 72". What I need to find out is the block width
of the numbers (paint) and the overall width of each numeral. I'm looking to get some custom
decals printed up.
72" H Raven confirms in his cammo story. I'm stuck after that
My guess is a block width of 10". 3 feet wide for each numeral.
Anyone know for sure?
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Size of bow # on Amphibs
I found the answer here ; http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USN/ref ... rt-36.html
The width of the numbers is half the height of the "digit" for the 72" high numerals.
I measured against a couple of pics to confirm, see example.
