I was hoping there'd be a sticky w/recommended books on general modeling, especially for beginners. Is there somewhere else on the forums I should be looking?

A couple of my favourite basic books are:
1. Ship Models From Kits by David Griffith
2. Building & Detailing Scale Model Ships: The Complete Guide to Building, Detailing, Scratchbuilding, and Modifying Scale Model Ships�(ISBN: 0890242402) by Mike Ashey
