Airbrushing and thinning Future/Pledge Floor Care over acryl

Greetings,
I would like to hear some opinions about airbrushing Future/Pledge Floor Care over acrylic paint such as Vallejo. I'm trying to work away from oils to acrylic. I painted my hull with Vallejo paints and brushed on Future. Yes the original bottle. It could be because it's old but it tended to pool in certain areas even though I was careful about applying thin coats. I removed the Future with Windex but that ended up taking off some of the Vallejo paint.

So after I repaint I'm planning on spaying a coat of future. In the past I've added a little Windex for better flow and to break up surface tension. I'm wondering what effect this will have on the paint.

I would appreciate hearing from you guys about your experience spraying Future/Pledge Floor Care over Acrylics.

Hi Dave,

I do that too, just a drop or two added in the cup of the airbrush. So far so good, using mainly Tamiya and Vallejo paint.
I just wait a good 24 hours after painting tho.

Thanks Alain. Have you ever tried acrylic flow improved/retarder or Tamiya thinner? I know I don't want to use alcohol because it will attack the paint.

I always airbrush Future full strength over acrylics, usually Tamiya paint. Never a problem. Spray thin coats. Unless you really want a high gloss sheen, you don't have to spray a lot. Your paint job and/or decals will be sealed even though the finish is not super glossy.

I use Future, undiluted and applied by hairy brush, over my PollyScale and Lifecolor acrylics with no problems. The pooling means you've put on either too much, or the area of the model on which the Future was applied was subject to gravity. Try to apply the Future in sections that are horizontal to the table surface so that it won't flow in one direction.

No, i never did. The only other thing i could think of as far as flow/leveling is concerned is the pressure .
Air compressor is set to 12 psi.
