Great news for all of us interested by the Pacific War. LELA Presse (Navires et Histoire) of France has just released the first volume in a series of two, that is dedicated to the Guadalcanal Campaign.
So far, it is probably the best researched and most complete book on the subject.
I am halfway of the reading of the first volume and must say that it is impressive.
The only big problem is that it is written in French, too bad !

Re: New book on Guadalcanal Campaign
Hello,
Sorry, text is in French only, but believe me, for French readers the book is just awesome. It contains a day/day hour/hour report of all events during the Guadalcanal campaign !
Best regards from Normandie,
Jacques Druel

Mon franais... C'est Douloureux. (I know that is a strange translation... painful was the closest word I could think of. It isn't that it is bad. It is that there are strange holes in it, which make sometimes simple things difficult).L'Arsenal wrote:Hello,

But, I will save the link, and keep track for when I have to refresh my French to get credit for it for my degrees (technically second/third, but they don't count what I got credit for for a "Second language" for my first degree).

Now all I have to do is to buy the book and hire some comely mademoiselle to read it to me. Hey, that's not a bad idea!

40 years ago I wondered why I had to study French
This book is part of the answer!
