While at home the other day trying to get over the lastest bug that hit work. I was review several threads and purposed Ideas. So here goes my proposal:
1. All ships will be NTDS all have been active since the 80's and the current time frame is just after 9/11.
2. The ships will be as follows:
A. one Iowa Class (leaning towards BB-64) as the subject. the project will be a update of Rusty White Hybrid he did back in 2005.
This ship will have a weapon and sensor group similiar to LHD (RAM, CIWS SPS48 and 49) no NSSM because they can handle the pressure from the 16" guns. Additional Weapons will be Harpoon and Small Group of VLS to lanch ESSM and Tomhawaks along with 25MM and NUKLA launchers. Aircraft will be SH-60J, CH-53E and Cobra's with a Osprey on deck.
B. Either USS Salem CA-139 or USS Boston Having been updated to post 1980's again NTDS, RAMS, VLS for ESSM and Tomhawks, 25MM and NUKLA launchers. It will have a deck like a spruance that can handle four SH-60, Cobra's or two CH-53E. More Command and Control, but can handle Special force and NGFS and Sea lane Control.
C. USS John Hancock converted into a DDH. Again it will recieve a VLS upgrade to CG-47 class and be NTDS instead of a second five inch it will get a second RAM. May also get a second VLS around the hanger for ESSM quad packs only.
