This is the Hikawa Maru (1/700 Hasegawa kits) in both cruise ship and hospital ship guises.

These are nice kits to build, and during the build a friend who visited Yokohama Harbour told me all about his day spent wandering all over the Hikawamaru, which is preserved there as an historic ship. I love researching the history of each vessel I model while I am building it.

And this is the oiler, Shirya, in a fictitious early diorama (the background photo is actually Nice in France). The little service vessels are all from Hasegawa, too.
I've been building models since starting my semi-retirement in 2013. I'm building ships, planes and cars in roughly equal quantities, and enjoying them all, and I'm starting to teach myself the basics of making dioramas, weathering models, etc. It's a terrific hobby, I don't think I'll ever run out of interesting subjects to build.
