What-If USN Flight-Deck Transport Designs

Per Friedman's US Carriers bible, the USN looked at converting a number of liners into flight-deck equipped transports, to allow aircraft to be flown off to their destinations, rather than delivered by sea. Friedman's description is corroborated on this site:

'Much design work was done during the remainder of 1941 for the aircraft transport conversions, and in November the designations AVG 2-4 were reserved for the converted AP 21-23 respectively. AVG 2-3 were to be converted at Newport News and were to have a 587-foot long flight deck with the pilot house below its forward edge and hinged smokestacks fitted outboard. But on 31 Dec 41 CNO informed the Bureau of Ships that it had been decided not to proceed with these conversions. The reasons were the extensive time required to carry out the conversions and the present need for the ships as transports.'

Ships considered were USS Wakefield AP-21, USS mount Vernon AP-22, West Point AP-23 and the Swedish Kungsholm. the concept died off as mentioned above, but was apparently revived in 1943 as a possible use for the hulk of the USS Lafayette AP-53 (former SS Normandie)

I have not been able to find any drawings of these proposed conversions. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Note: these are NOT the pre-war XCV proposals, which would have utilized a number of the same vessels
