Depicting explosions
I came across an interesting diorama today (April 28) on iModeler.com, in which the modeler made quite convincing (to me, anyway) explosions using chicken wire, cotton balls, and LED lights. The URL is http://imodeler.com/2016/04/booom-i-had ... incorrect/. Seems to me the technique could easily be used in the naval context. Check it out.

Re: Depicting explosions
As a photoshooting prop-up with appropriate post-processing it might go, but otherwise it looks quite 'kitschy' and like a little boy's dream, as do attempts to represent spray with cotton wool Don't do it !

wefalck- Your comments always very much appreciated, though this looked interesting, think I'll steer clear of attempting it.
