USN WWII Paint Colors

Post by lgmccauley »

I hope this doesn't open a can of worms, but what paints on the market are the closest matches to the USN WWII 5H Haze Gray and the 5N Navy Blue on the Snyder & Short's paint chip chart?
Thanks.

You should buy some & decide for yourself. Model Master looks ok to me! Google around.

In addition to the suggestions provided in the responses to the question in the Iowa class thread, there are also the acrylic options by Lifecolor.

John,
I did buy some and they don't come close to the paint chips, but I think I have found a source that will. I won't know for sure for about a week so I don't want to say anything yet.

Yes Buyer beware! I use Colorcoats they are really hard to come by in US now, but they can be found. You will have to adjust to your taste.
