Dreadnought Bridge

Post by Mountbatten6516 »

Hello everyone,

Would anyone know the layout of the bridge of a typical late war super Dreadnought, such as Warspite or Revenge or Repulse, etc.? I am building a diorama of the bridge of the HMS Hood at Denmark Strait and I have no idea how a battleship bridge should look like :mad_1:

Can someone help me? :thumbs_up_1:

I have a copy of Norman Ough's "British Warship Detail" drawings of Warspite's later forebridge and spotting top (1930). It's in Model Maker, July 1960 and is very detailed, but is a small drawing.

PM me with your email address and I will send you the best scan I can get from it - if you want it.

Hi Rick,

Wow, that was a big small drawing :-D I got it safe and sound and I'm now trying to make heads or tails of the various decks. This looks pretty good. I'm thinking I'll couple the data here with the photos of the bridge of HMS Belfast perhaps and that should make a pretty good diorama.

Many thanks!
