If I complete my model, having been painted in Acrylics, is it smart or necessary to then cover the whole thing in Flat Lacquer Finish?
A ship is always referred to as "she" because it costs so much to keep one in paint and powder.

I would say it would depend on how flat your acrylic dries and are you satisfied with it.
Any ship larger than a Destroyer is a waste of metal.
