Books about French warships?
Hello,
Are there any books about french battleships or armored cruisers from first world war? I'm looking for such book around the net but had still found nothing... So does anyone know books, in english language, but also in french too, that are about french warships from the time of the first world war?

French naval books
Check Le Arsenal. I purchased Les Cuirasses de 23500 Tonnes & Les Cuirasses de 15000 Tonnes from that source. They also had a book on Courbet that I did not get. The books are well-illustrated but are of course in French. If you do not have the funds, much of the illustrations are posted on the Tsushima website, which is a great source of pictures for old French battleships & cruisers.

If I have understood right, this first book that you have mentioned is about french cruisers from the time after the first world war... and this second book I can't find on net... do you maybe have link to some web site that sells that book (so I could find out which other books that publisher had published)...G. French warship books
Schnellboot:
Sorry that I was not very clear.
The books I cited were about battleships (French Cuirasse = English battleship).
L'Arsenal is one of the sponsors of the Website & can be accessed from the home page. The 15000 tonne book covers battleships displacing 15000 tons: Patrie, Republique, Democratie, Justice, Liberte, Verite. It is listed on page 7 of the L'Arsenal website.
The 23500 tonne book is slightly better in my opinion and covers the battleships that displaced 23500 tons: Courbet, Jean Bart, Paris, France, Bretagne, Provence, Lorraine.
Not sure about availability. You can E-mail L'Arsenal for information.
I highly recommend these books. I haven't seen anything like them.
If these 2 are not available, the Japanese Ships of the World book on French battleships mentioned by our friend Pepe is very good. It contains many very good photos of all of the French battleships.
I don't know about armored cruiser books. Sorry. I do like the look of those ships, however.

French battleships book
Peppe:
How do you rate the 100 years of French battleships book?
How well illustrated is it. I am primarily interested in the early ironclads and unfamiliar images of the predreadnoughts.

Burt French Battleship book
Aha, Ted, you have a gold mine there!
Last time I looked, your rare book was going for $75 or more.

French Battleships
http://search.barnesandnoble.com/used/p ... 1854090218
Seems its available online from Barnes and Noble. I have found the Tsushima website photographs, and the French museum archives, an outstanding source of references for my 1/700 French Pre-Dreadnought
battleships.

Aha... those books are about battleships... Thank you all on information...
And another question: is there any literature, or at least service history available on net of French armored cruisers of Leon Gambetta class (Leon Gammbeta, Victor Hugo, Jules Ferry) from first world war? My main interest in that class is Leon Gambetta...
