Bending the plastic parts

Hello,

what is your method for bending or deforming the plastic parts? I need to simulate the battle damage, so it is necessary to bend a few parts.

Would you do it over a candle? In hot water? Over a soldering iron?

I find it is much easier to control the heat with using hot water. Direct heat is too easy to let get away from you.

Boil the water. I tend to tape the part to a curved piece of steel (such as a X-acto handle)or wood, plunge it in boiling water then run under a cold tap. To state the obvious, be careful about scalding yourself. I tend to drop the plastic in the water then fish it out with a pair of kitchen tongs.

Works rather nicely.

You can also use bendable plastic. I think Mid West stocks it.
