All:
Below please find a link to a well-known photo of the WWII era River class frigate HMCS Thetford Mines:

Would the hemp colored walkway running fore and aft on the focsle deck just inboard of/under the port life raft (at the 9 o'clock position) and outboard of the forward deckhouse be semtex? And would the brown deck under the forward 4" HA gun be corticene? I don't see any brass fasteners, so I am skeptical--and would corticene be used on a working surface that would be subject to constant abuse with spent shell casings dropping all over the place all the time?
And is it my eyes or does the metal deck forward of the breakwater have a brown hue, rather than the very dark gray color I would have expected?
Thoughts from our camouflage and paint experts?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Mike E.

Mike, this is discussed on page 3 under Semtex. I think it is vague at best, light green-grey.
Good luck, dick is the best authority.
