New Dreadnought (and pre-Dreadnought) Race ?

We have just been witnesses of next E.Bay race for Burt's books. I didn't shadowed final bids but his three books together with Raven/Roberts' book reached almost 1000 $. I had been lucky to get these books before they reached these crazy prices and now wondering what is the reason they have taken such a value in such a short time (two years?) and where is the price limit (free market
principle ?)

Their appearance on E.Bay makes some kind of red allert or "Dreadnought Panic"

They have been these high prices for years from my experience and with the introduction of ebay they have gone up from around �200 from what you would expect to pay from a UK Maritime book Dealer to now say �350 beacuse on ebay you are bidding on the global market and with rarity people will bid anything as long as they have room on their credit cards! lol!

Also I've explained many times before why these books will never be reprinted, and finally something else which I must point out is people will never get one from any UK Maritime book dealer as they all have waiting lists for them usually around 10 people last time I spoke to some of the better ones.

Sometimes I'm glad to be old enough I could buy these books (plus R/R's British cruisers of WW II and other excellent books)
when just printed or not much later.

Could you recommend some good books which will soon be rare and go on like R/R's books?

David Williams Camo book might be one book which will rocket up once it's out of print, it's currently @ �40

Another is the massive Japanese Cruisers book by the French authors.

Luckily I've got both of these now, but I reckon if they go out of print their price will hike upwards, but not at Ray Burt prices though! lol!
