UK may scrap its ASW warship fleet

There's been similar warnings about the RN reducing its number of warships before:

Britain may slash its fleet of anti-submarine warships.
Under a proposed new defense policy, the Royal Navy would lose more than one-third of its anti-submarine warfare (ASW) frigates.
The UKs existing fleet of frigates could be reduced from 13 to just eight ahead of the highly anticipated review, as replacing them with newer models has proven costly, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The UK could fall into single number frigates, a naval official told the Telegraph. We could have less than 10 warships because new build stuff is in the firing line.

The RN has currently only 8 frigates equipped for ASW.

The other five Type 23 lack the towed array sonar and are used as GP frigates.

Before that review, it was planed to order 8 Type 26 (ASW frigates) and 5 Type 31 (GP). That review is not yet complete, therefore it is not yet known what will be included - as far as I understand it.
