Bending PE

I have been trying to figure out a good way to bend PE to make ladder rungs and came up with the following idea that worked well with me.

Get yourself a cup warmer. It's a little electric device to set a coffee cup on and keep the coffee warm. It you're making ladder runs or something of the sort, cut some brass angle, box or tube long, enough to fit on the face of the warmer to use as a mold. Wrap the PE around it and set it face down on the surface. In a few seconds the PE will be soft and conform to the mold. Pull it away and let it cool a couple of seconds, trim it and you're done. The beauty of it is that you don't have to mess with a candle or other open flame and you can control the bend rather well.

What? you're supposed to heatup PE brass to shape it? no wonder I hate that stuff, Im new to ship building and I have been fighting with the PE.

No, don't heat the PE. The above is for plastic rod and sheet stock. Sorry my mistake in title. Senior moment. Should have been "Bending Plastic".
