Making sure the seams are clean

Hi,

I'm looking for a good method to make sure the seams are clean on 1/700 models. At the moment, I airbrush a layer of paint, which looks like that with green and black paints: (Don't consider the red circle)



It is very efficient but I would like to have a "dry" method, which would be faster (No drying time) and it would also allow for pictures of the ship before painting, with all modifications visible.

What you are already doing is priming and sanding, repeat as necessary. That's the best way to do it.

Another method is to get a silver paint marker, preferably acrylic so that it will dry quickly, and draw over the seams with that to show any imperfections.

If you have a single source of light where you build your model, you can hold the model at an extreme angle against the light so that the surface with the seam is just at the point between being in light or in shadow. You can then see a slight shadow that forms at the seam if there is a gap, or it one side is higher than the other. You will need to do this for both sides of the seam just to make sure. You can also do this with a flashlight.
