What is a good color for 1/700 Modern US Navy Fighters. I am working on the USS Ronald Reagan. Would light gray work, or would I need a darker color for the scale.
Thanks.

Dark ghost gray for the top and Light ghost gray for the bottom usually works for me. Again, you may want to lighten it a bit for that scale effect, but I usually dont. Keep in mind that I'm fairly certain that the Reagan does not carry F-14s, and you may want to buy some extra regular F-18s and some Super Hornets.

I think it's a matter of personal preference. Paint them the way you want them to look.
Here's what I do: (I learned this method on this board)
--Paint the canopy silver (I use Tamiya)
--After the silver is dry paint the canopy with Tamiya Smoke. This is a translucent black color.
You can see it on my Mark V SOC (and the helicopters with it) in the Modelwarships gallery. Here's the link:

Carrier Aircraft 1/700
Where can I grab a few extra sets of carrier aircraft for both USN and IJN in 1/700 scale. And a follow-up, is there a definitive resource for color schemes for the IJN aircraft? I am under the assumption each squadron had identifying colors - or did they change as the war progressed? I know many of the A6M's at Pearl Harbor were still 'silver'.
