Hello,
I am building a 1/72 model of the HMCS Assiniboine circa 1958. What I need are photos and details of the aft structure where the Mk 32 torpedeo launchers(the modified depth charge throwers) are. I have details of the launchers but I have no details of how the torpedoes were reloaded. I assume that there was a door to the torpedeo storage but I have no idea where it is located. My plans show no accesses in this area which doesn't make sense. Also, I need to confirm if the 40mm were Mk 5 Boffin guns or the later Mk 7 Bofors mount. The plan shows Mk7 but my refernce articles from IPMS Canada RT vol22 no. 5 states they were Mk5. The only semi clear picture I have I think they are Mk5 but maybe that's what I want to see???
Any photos or details of the ship or the other St. Laurent Class DDE around this time period would be appriciated. My current ref are the books "Cadillac of Destroyers, HMCS St. Laurent and Her Successors, various RT issues and onboard shots of the ships modified to DDH and plans from Vanguard Model Marine in Ottawa.
Thanks again.
James
