How to launch? an R/c boat

Post by HMAS »

Shamelessly copied, OK I stole it then, from another site "subpirates"

Launch with Confidence...
Okay, it's a simple boat, but not with out soldered
railings, mast, and all the basic details.

So in the Pacific Northwest, when you hear,

Launch for Distance!!

Be sure your boat is clear.

Yes, pinched from Modelmayham in the U/K, when I first saw it 3 weeks ago I thought it was a lot of cr-p and still think that way, kids no respect, the electronics in that model took a pounding, :Mad_6: :Mad_6:
Simple but effective.

Ah yes, but if we had tried that with our old rubber band escapement equipt
In some repects, I treat my equipt worse than that in the subs in saltly water.

It doesn't have anything to do with respect of the equipment. They're showing how durable the equipment is and how watertight the boat is. Like those commercials where they cut tin cans with knives and smack safety glass with hammers. They're making a point.

From the start Umi built the boat to be launched that we. The Springers are a class of " tug" that we use for competition in manouvering events. The electronics we not really the concern, as much as the keel and the bridge work. She estimated that because of the weight of the boat, she was going to need at least .75m depth to the bottom. And since the boat was going to go under water, the bridge was going to get wet. The big thing was the mast of the boat, which is brass and has nav lights worked into it. The batteries and electronics are all securely anchored.
This boat just got back from a trip to Amsterdam
