Hi all,
Here is my WIP on Cacciatorpediniere Giuseppe La Masa.
Wood, stapples, styrene sheet&tube, cotton bud, various brushes hair.
Found most docs there:

Hi,
Cowls were made from styrene, 0.3mm thick and liquid cyano-acrylate.
Basic and not so pretty when shown that near, but easy to do :wave_1:
-light sanding of the sheet so that glue fix better
GLM01.JPG
-drill a hole, and glue two small strips
GLM02.JPG
-cut the part, fix it to funnel and then (and only then) sand to final form

Some week end updates
Funnels details

Railings, first time I'm trying to make some.
I first made a kind of ladder (with fishing line) and glued it on main deck, but this was quite painstaking
On forecastle I tried something else: placed fishing line vertically in small holes and then glued an electic wire as handrail (this method was easier but I damaged hull sides...)

Very nice indeed. What about the real one? Do you have any history about it.
Inventive way of making the funnels, never thought about something like that!

thank you Neptune.
Don't know much about her:
She's one of the many three pipers destroyers (reclassed as torpedo boats between wars) built in Italy during WWI.
Nameship of her class, laid down 1Sep1916, completed 28Sept1917, she was scuttled at Naples on 11Sept1943 (to avoid German capture) while under repair.

Here's a detail of the mast made with stapples and electric wire to strenchen the fit.
A bit thick (I usually used teeth brushes hair) but I want to try rigging the mast so I need something strong enough.

Hi,
Dealing with the rigging now. I'm new at this stuff, so I'll make it basic.
I'm using fishing line and Cyano glue.

I'm not sure about the color I should paint the wires.
According to real ships pics it looks like they had colored bands on top of funnels but I have no idear which color I should use (the red for ID letters is just a bet). If anyome has any info about this...

Gracie Michel.

She's complete now.
I've added a bit of dirt: dry bushing with brown paint to make rust and heavily thinned matt black to accentute shadows and break uniformity of the grey.
Nothing to worry about, the 5th finger was not lost during the built...

Very novel way to tackle your rigging. Dont think i'd like to make my own railings though, probaly end up throwing the ship at the nearest wall :heh:
I'll take your word on only three bottles being opened :cool_2:
