Making land in dioramas?

Post by Mac »

Does anyone know how to make land in 1/700 ship dioramas? I really like Michael Griggs' Tirpitz/Lutzow diorama, and want to know how to make the land. I'm interested in materials and techniques that produce the best results. Thanks.

Start with styrofoam and carve it to suit you (outside as it makes a mess). Then take plaster of paris and go over it and shape as needed. Paint it with the colors you like and add the details.

Woodland Scenes makes all kinds of diorama supplies. You can usually find them in model railroad shops.
Any ship larger than a Destroyer is a waste of metal.
