color match info (Akagi '27-'34)

Post by commodore4 »

Hi, I have a slight quandary. I have recently gone to 1/700 scale. In doing so I accidently acquired the "THREE DECK AKAGI" 1927-1934.The problem I have is this. Are there any "MODELMASTER" colors by TESTORS that match the I.J.N. for this time period.I have based most of my building projects with their colors used for the necessary painting. If I have to mix the colors I don,t mind as I had to do that for my 1/350 U.S.S. NORTH CAROLINA.Any help in this area(color mixing) or straight out paint numbers that will work would be so gratefully appreciated. thank you in advance. You may contact me offline at gjgeracci@satx.rr.com anytime.

I would say your best bet given the constraints you give would be to pick up the Snyder & Short / Shipcamouflage IJN Japanese Paint Chips.
