Yeah trouble is with putting them in and out of boxes really does scrape the paint work. The Queen Mary 2 model was already built when I brought her. I have since built two ships an unfinished QE2 and an old unfinished Queen Mary.
This was intended to be built in late 2004 but the model was completely left in the cubbyhole because I had other stuff on and it was just left as a white hulk with artwork inside to get dusty.
I found the model of the ship a week or two ago and arranged to get it built after nearly 7 years of being left. The model is of the RMS Queen Mary. I brought two kits and one did get built in 2004 but I also wanted to build another Queen Mary as a supply.
This is after I found the model in a old and dirty state. This is the interiors.
At last what she was built for.
On Wednesday I took her to the day centre and the elderly there instantly knew the ships name before even seeing the name plates "Queen Mary". She has proved popular and they would love to see her again. Soon after many of them was talking about the times the real Queen Mary sailed the high seas they either saw her or sailed in her. It also brought back some memories about her speed and her role in the war as a troop carrier. She shortened the war by a year because she and her sister Queen Elizabeth carried thousands and thousands of troops than anyother ship and today Queen Mary still holds the record for carrying the most troops and people on a ship at sea. One of the men there said its a masterpiece and a fine piece of kit. I'm taking her again this Wednesday.
